The story of African Child Foundation...
The African Child Foundation (ACF) is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers whose mission is to support the orphaned and at risk children in the slums outside Nairobi. African Child Foundation(ACF) supports the children by providing for all their needs including food, water, medical and an education.
People of all ages, faiths and backgrounds support the foundation and many of our supporters have visited our schools and met the children they help to support.
Since 2006, ACF has clothed, fed, given safe shelter and provided a quality education to 100s of orphans and vulnerable children. Although over the years some children relocate but the majority of our children have attended our schools for many years, and successfully completed their schooling. At any one time about 400 children remain in Fr. Henry's care.
Fanaka I School (Swahili for God's providence) is an elementary school completely funded by ACF, and educates children Preschool through the 6th grade. ( Ages 2-12 All the children are fed two healthy meals a day).
Fanaka 2 is partially funded by the government and has Preschool through 8nd grade classes and reliant on ACF for the feeding program..
Our middle school, Mt. Olive Academy is a highly competitive boarding school, grades 4 through 8.
A number of our girls are sponsored in surrounding Secondary Schools and some have gone on to receive degrees in college and trade schools. They have studied to be nurses, teachers, doctors and attorneys, and are committed to giving back to their under privileged community.
You can help by sponsoring an individual elementary school child, or by giving general donations which will be used to help support all the children. All the money raised by ACF is used to support the children, there are no employees.
African Child Foundation is a 501(3)(c) so all donations are tax deductible.
ACF has earned the 2020 GuideStar Silver Seal of Transparency
